It is Tarantula mating season and they come out from their hiding places. Its the male who spins a web and once they mate, the females sometimes eat them for a tasty meal. October 5, 2010.

Its been a challenge to say the least to get a close up of a peacock roaming around in the neighborhood. I stalked this one until he flew up onto a neighbors roof. October 4, 2010.
Day 276. The Mount Diablo Challenge
Larry and I made it to the top! We did the 11.2 mile bike ride that climbs 3,249 feet to the summit of Mount Diablo. All proceeds benefit Save Mount Diablo's land conservation efforts. October 3, 2010.
